This Section describes two methods for the determination of total neutral oil. The method described in clause 1 is technically identical with the older method described in BS 684:1958 and is generally applicable to natural fats. The procedure described in clause 2 is an alternative method that is known to have been applied satisfactorily to cottonseed, soya bean, peanut, linseed and coconut oils.
Extraction method and alternative chromatographic method applicable to cottonseed, soya bean, peanut, linseed and coconut oils.
