This document specifies general principles for extending the existing standardised butyrometric methods for the determination of fat in various milk products and specifies down the basic principle for all butyrometric tests and the main requirements for their implementation. In addition, this document gives guidance on the validation of butyrometric methods against the relevant reference methods. Annex A sets out the technical delivery conditions for amyl alcohol.
