Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n 1.1<\/span> This specification covers preformed flexible elastomeric cellular-thermal insulation in sheet and tubular form. Grade 1 covers materials to be used on commercial or industrial systems with operating temperatures from \u2013183 to 104\u00b0C [\u2013297 to 220\u00b0F], Grade 2 covers material used on industrial systems with operating temperatures from \u2013183 to 150\u00b0C [\u2013297 to 300\u00b0F], and Grade 3 covers material used on industrial systems with operating temperatures from \u2013183 to 120\u00b0C [\u2013297 to 250\u00b0F] where halogens are not permitted.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n 1.2<\/span> The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n 1.3<\/span> This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
