{"id":265574,"date":"2024-10-19T17:43:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T17:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bsi-20-30399628-dc-2020\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T13:40:40","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T13:40:40","slug":"bsi-20-30399628-dc-2020","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bsi-20-30399628-dc-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"BSI 20\/30399628 DC 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This document specifies the general safety requirements common to industrial furnaces and associated processing equipment (TPE).<\/p>\n<p>This document deals with the significant hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events relevant to TPE, as listed in <span class=\"xref\">Annex A<\/span>, when TPE is used as intended and also under conditions of misuse that are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"xref\">Annex B<\/span> provides a list of common industrial furnaces and associated processing equipment.<\/p>\n<p>This document specifies the requirements intended to be met by the manufacturer to ensure the safety of persons and property during commissioning, start-up, operation, shut-down, maintenance periods and dismantling, as well as in the event of foreseeable faults or malfunctions that can occur in the equipment.<\/p>\n<p>These general safety requirements apply to all TPE, unless an exception is given in other parts of <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">EN&nbsp;746&nbsp;series<\/span><\/span> dealing with specific equipment. The provisions of other parts of <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">EN 746<\/span><\/span> that directly apply to specific types of TPE take precedence over the provisions of this document.<\/p>\n<p>This document is not applicable to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>blast furnaces, direct reduction furnaces and gas converters;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>steam and hot water boilers;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>fired appliances in the refining, petrochemical and chemical industries;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>sulphur thermal reactors (&#8220;Claus plants&#8221;).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As long as no other standard is applicable for thermoprocess equipment (TPE), the requirements of this standard are applicable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>BS EN 746-1.
