{"id":266147,"date":"2024-10-19T17:45:35","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T17:45:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bs-4185-141987\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T13:45:59","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T13:45:59","slug":"bs-4185-141987","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bs-4185-141987\/","title":{"rendered":"BS 4185-14:1987"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This Part of BS 4185 describes a method for the determination of the pilot diameter, <i>d,<\/i> of a 60\u00b0 centre hole, type A, B or R as illustrated in Appendices A to C of BS 328-2:1972, covering the range 0.5 mm \u2a7d <i>d<\/i> \u2a7d 50 mm.<\/p>\n<p>This method applies only to workpieces satisfying the following conditions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>force acting at the centre hole, <i>F<\/i><sub>G<\/sub>, \u2a7d 180 000 N;<\/li>\n<li>cutting force, <i>F<\/i><sub>s<\/sub>, \u2a7d 110 000 N;<\/li>\n<li>where  \u2a7e 3 or  \u2a7e <b>6.3<\/b> (see BS 328-1 for <i>D<\/i> in relation to <i>d<\/i>) (see also clause <b>2<\/b>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE 1 The theoretical concept is explained in Appendix A and additional considerations are given in Appendix B.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE 2 A typical centre hole is illustrated in Figure 1.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE 3 The titles of the publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back cover.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Applies to certain types of centre hole described in BS 328-2.
