{"id":269088,"date":"2024-10-19T18:01:11","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T18:01:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bsi-20-30415621-dc\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T14:05:32","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T14:05:32","slug":"bsi-20-30415621-dc","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bsi-20-30415621-dc\/","title":{"rendered":"BSI 20\/30415621 DC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This document specifies the requirements and associated test methods applicable to wide tolerance ductile iron and steel couplings, stepped\/reducing couplings and flange adaptors intended for use with pipe components made from a number of pipe materials (ductile iron, grey iron, PE in conformity with <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">EN 12201-1<\/span><\/span> to <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">EN 12201-5<\/span><\/span>, PVC-U in conformity with <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">EN&nbsp;ISO 1452-1<\/span><\/span> to <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">EN&nbsp;ISO&nbsp;1452-5<\/span><\/span>, steel, fibre-cement), for providing a leak tight seal over a wide range of pipe outside diameters:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>to convey water (e.g. water intended for human consumption );<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>with or without pressure;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>to be installed below or above ground, inside or outside buildings.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This document is not intended to cover sewerage or gas applications, where additional requirements may be necessary.<\/p>\n<p>This document specifies requirements for materials, dimensions and tolerances, mechanical properties and standard coatings of products.<\/p>\n<p>This document covers wide tolerance couplings, stepped\/reducing couplings and flange adaptors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Manufactured with socketed or flanged ends;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Supplied externally and internally coated;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Suitable for ductile iron in conformity with <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">EN 545<\/span><\/span>, grey iron, PE in conformity with <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">EN 12201-1<\/span><\/span> to <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">EN 12201-5<\/span><\/span>, PVC-U in conformity with <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">EN&nbsp;ISO 1452-1<\/span><\/span> to <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">EN&nbsp;ISO 1452-5<\/span><\/span>, steel, fibre-cement in a size range extending from DN 40 to DN 700, for an allowable operating pressure (PFA) up to 16 bar, for fluid temperatures between 0&nbsp;\u00b0C and 25&nbsp;\u00b0C excluding frost. For higher temperatures, (up to 45 \u00b0C for PVC-U or 40 \u00b0C for PE) the PFA is derated as given in <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">EN&nbsp;ISO 1452<\/span><\/span> and <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">EN 12201<\/span><\/span>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Not intended for use in areas subjected to reaction to fire regulations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"non-normative-note\">\n<div class=\"note-label\">\n  NOTE 1\n <\/div>\n<p>This does not preclude special arrangements for the products to be used at higher temperatures. Temperature limitations and pressure limitations are those coming from the PVC-U or PE pipes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>This document covers ductile iron couplings, stepped\/reducing couplings and flange adaptors cast by any type of foundry process or manufactured by fabrication of cast components, as well as corresponding joints, in a size range extending from DN 40 to DN 700, to be used with pipes of external diameter from 40 mm to 710 mm.<\/p>\n<p>As long as no equivalent European Standard exists for steel accessories, this document also covers couplings and flange adaptors which are fabricated partly or entirely from steel as well as corresponding joints, in a size range extending from DN 60 to DN 700, to be used with pipes of external diameter from 63 mm to 710 mm.<\/p>\n<p>This document specifies requirements for materials, dimensions and tolerances, mechanical properties and standard coatings. It also gives minimum performance requirements for all components, including restrained and non-restrained flexible joints.
