These procedures apply to both balanced copper and optical fibre cabling.<\/p>\n<p>These test procedures may be used for<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>acceptance testing against agreed cabling performance limits,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>verification of specific application support,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>the investigation of faults.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These test procedures are not suitable for components or cable assemblies such as patch cords and equipment cords.<\/p>\n<p>For each test procedure this standard specifies<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:alpha-lower\">\n<li>\n<p>test parameter,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>the test method(s),<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>test system,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>test equipment,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>cabling interface adaptor,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>measurement procedure,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>calibration,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>interpretation of test results,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>documentation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Limits for the parameters under test are specified in relevant cabling and application standards.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>Information technology.
