It includes testing for swelling of styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) and terpolyme of ethylene, propylene and diene (EPDM) seals in contact with brake fluid containing 1.5 percent water. This Standard covers brake fluids which comply with the requirements of Grade I (equivalent to DOT 3), Grade 2 and Grade 3 (equivalent to DOT 4) and polyglycol base. Other compositions are not excluded. Grade 4 fluids have been deleted and are to be found in AS\/ NZS 1960 Part 2.
