ESDU 12001 provides a means of estimating the noise levels in
\none-third octave bands emanating from the turbine within a gas
\nturbine engine which may be either static or flying. The prediction
\nprogram accompanying this Item is based on a modified version of
\nthe Smith and Bushell method.<\/p>\n

The main input parameters that need to be specified are the
\nturbine mass flow rate through the engine core, the total
\ntemperature at the turbine exit, the relative tip speed of the last
\nrotor, the stator-rotor gap-chord ratio, the shaft speed and the
\nnumber of blades in the last rotor stage.<\/p>\n

ESDUpac A1201 can be run to carry out the estimation. ESDUpac
\nB1201 can be used to facilitate the generation of input files.
\nMATLAB\u00ae<\/sup> users can use VIEWpac M1201 to run the program,
\nentering input data through a graphical user interface. VIEWpac
