If the<br \/>\ntext pertains to one or more but not all, the specific forms are<br \/>\nidentified.<\/p>\n<p>The manufacturing process of forming the desired tooth form is not<br \/>\nintended to imply any specific<br \/>\nprocess, but rather to be general in nature and applicable to all<br \/>\nmethods of manufacture.<\/p>\n<p>Precision finish, as used in this standard, refers to a machine<br \/>\nfinishing operation which includes<br \/>\ngrinding, skiving, and hard cut finishing. However, the common form of<br \/>\nfinishing known as lapping<br \/>\nis specifically excluded as a form of precision finishing.<\/p>\n<p>Users should determine the cutting methods available from their gear<br \/>\nmanufacturer prior to<br \/>\nproceeding. Cutting systems used by bevel gear manufacturers are<br \/>\nheavily dependent upon the type of<br \/>\nmachine tool that will be used.<\/p>\n<p>This standard is intended for use by an experienced gear designer<br \/>\ncapable of selecting reasonable<br \/>\nvalues for the factors based on his knowledge and background.
